9. Temperature sensor resistance table¶
As a temperature sensor, the DT240 thermostat uses a high-ohmic resistor with a negative temperature coefficient, known as an NTC resistor. In practice, this means that the resistor increases its resistance as the temperature falls, and conversely, decreases its resistance as the temperature rises.
NTC temperature sensors are standardly specified by stating their resistance at room temperature, e.g. 10 kΩ at 25°C.
The thermostat supports a total of 11 different types of NTC temperature sensors (see Selecting sensor type), but is supplied as standard with an Elpos 10 kΩ / 25°C sensor.
In addition to the standard Elpos 10 kΩ / 25°C, the Elpos 12 kΩ / 25°C and Elpos 100 kΩ / 25°C sensors can also be ordered with the thermostat. The 100 kΩ / 25°C sensor is used when temperatures above 80°C need to be measured.
The following text provides tables with the characteristic resistances of these three NTC temperature sensors.
